Identity verification & liveness
Remote identity verification, often called eKYC, usually combines three checks. Together they make it much harder to rent a property under someone else’s name.

Document check
The person photographs an identity document. Software reads the data and checks the document for signs of tampering.

Liveness detection
The person takes a selfie or short video. Liveness checks look for signs that a real, present person is in front of the camera, not a printed photo, screen replay or mask.

Face match
The selfie is compared with the photo on the document to confirm they show the same person.
